QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT HAVE

01

What do I need to be able to join ?

There is a job for everyone no matter your background, experience, or abilities. All we ask from you is to bring a positive attitude and a helping hand for your community.

03

How often do I need to attend to be considered active?

Volunteer firefighters are just that, volunteer. However to be considered active and qualify for certain government benefits including license plates you need to attend at least 20% of all calls, practices, and maintanence nights.

02

Is there training involved? How much does it cost?

There are multiple training opportunites that will be available to everyone throughout the year. These are at no cost to you and will help make sure you are comfortable with whatever task you will be doing.

04

How often do you meet and if I can't always be available as I have to work, can I still join?

We have regular meetings every Tuesday of the month. The first Tuesday is our meeting nights, second and third Tuesdays are our practices, and the fourth Tuesday is our maintanence night. You may not be available 24/7, not everyone is. However everyone's availability is different and it allows for a wide range of response.
